Community Action Committee of Lehigh Valley
Joins Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co.
To Give Free Term Life Insurance Policies
To Benefit Children of Working Families
Free life insurance for low-income families
From The Morning Call - Allentown, PA
The Community Action Committee of Lehigh Valley and other Lehigh Valley nonprofits are joining Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. to give away free $50,000 term life insurance policies to benefit children of working families throughout the Lehigh Valley...''CACLV works hard to help lower-income households acquire assets, which is a fundamental aspect of self-sufficiency. MassMutual's LifeBridge is both a brilliantly innovative and remarkably generous asset-building initiative,'' said Alan Jennings, executive director of CACLV.
LifeBridge - Free Life Insurance Program
MassMutual's unique LifeBridge Free Life Insurance Program provides $50,000 term life insurance policies free-of-charge to eligible parents or guardians. MassMutual pays the premiums, and the company's agents drive the program in their communities.
If an insured parent or guardian dies during the 10-year term, a $50,000 benefit funds a trust serviced by MassMutual's trust company to pay eligible dependent children's educational expenses. The program's goal is to give away $1 billion in coverage.
As of May 31, 2009, LifeBridge was halfway to the goal and has provided over a half billion dollars in free life insurance coverage across the country.
