Find Resources for Your Agency

The Rural Assistance Center (RAC) is an excellent resource if you’re looking for potential funding opportunities, publications and tools, program models, and more.  While the focus is on rural communities, there is quite a bit of information that can be used in any setting.

RAC helps rural communities and other stakeholders access the full range of available programs, funding, and research that can enable them to provide quality health and human services to rural residents – see RAC flyer and RAC video (6:52).

RSS Feeds

One way to keep up with information gathered by RAC is to subscribe for free to one or more of their RSS Feeds, such as Information Guides (covers over 70 topics) … Web Sites and Other Tools … State-Focused Resources ... etc.  Items featured during the past several months have included:

• Homelessness Resource Center – An interactive community of providers, consumers, policymakers, researchers, and public agencies at federal, state, and local levels - sharing knowledge and promising practices to prevent and end homelessness through: training and technical assistance, publications and materials, on-line learning opportunities and networking and collaboration.
• Safety Net Dental Clinic Manual – Offers information on partnerships and planning, facilities and staffing, financing, clinic operations, and quality awareness and improvement of dental clinics.  Also includes links to sample policies, budget worksheets and design tips.
• Bridge to Benefits Minnesota – A multi-state project by Children’s Defense Fund Minnesota to improve the well-being of families and individuals by linking them to public work support programs and tax credits.
• Burden of Poverty in Rural America (publication) – Discusses how poverty impacts health. Identifies key rural economic development areas and how they may strengthen the health and wellness of rural communities.
